The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has introduced a new collection process for students who are yet to receive their Student Identity Cards (ID Cards), making the exercise more convenient and accessible.
According to the University's directive, the distribution of outstanding ID cards has been decentralized. Affected students are now required to visit their respective academic departments, where the Departmental Secretaries have been assigned to coordinate and oversee the collection process.
This new approach is expected to ease the collection process by bringing the exercise closer to students, reducing unnecessary delays, and ensuring a more organized distribution across all departments. Rather than waiting for a centralized exercise, eligible students can now obtain their ID cards directly from their departmental offices.
Students who have not yet collected their ID cards are advised to report to their departmental offices as soon as possible to receive them. They are encouraged to cooperate with their Departmental Secretaries and comply with any verification requirements that may be necessary before collection.
The Student Identity Card serves as the official means of identification for every student of the University. Beyond proving studentship, it is often required for accessing lecture halls, examinations, laboratories, libraries, hostels, medical services, and other administrative and academic facilities within the University community.
Students are also reminded that possessing a valid ID card can be important during official verification exercises, security checks, and other university-related activities. Prompt collection will help prevent unnecessary inconveniences whenever identification is required on campus.
The University therefore encourages all affected students to take advantage of the department-based distribution system and collect their outstanding ID cards without further delay.
