After Talks with NELFUND, NANS Says Upkeep Payments Will Resume
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has assured beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) that the challenges affecting the disbursement of student upkeep allowances are being resolved.
In a statement shared after what he described as a "lengthy and productive engagement" with NELFUND's leadership, NANS President, Comrade Akinteye Babatunde, said the issues responsible for the delay in upkeep payments are currently receiving attention.
According to him, the disbursement of upkeep allowances will resume once the ongoing resolution process is concluded, adding that all outstanding payments owed to eligible students will be fully paid.
Babatunde appealed to students across the country to remain calm and patient while the process is being finalized, assuring them that efforts are being made to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is denied their entitlement.
The statement comes amid concerns from beneficiaries over delays in the payment of upkeep allowances under the Federal Government's student loan scheme.
Students are advised to rely on official updates from NELFUND and recognized stakeholders for accurate information regarding the resumption of disbursements.
