Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) Secures NUC Approval for 23 New Courses

The Vice-Chancellor is please invited to recall that a resource verification visit was carried out by panels of experts to some proposed academic programmes in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, with a view to assessing the human and material resources available for their establishment.

I am directed to inform the Vice-Chancellor that the Executive Secretary has considered and approved the establishment of the full-time mode of the following programmes to be run in the Main Campus of the University with effect from the 2025/2026 academic session.

1. B.Ed. Environmental Education

2. B.Ed. Social and Civic Education

3. B.A. Ed. Language Art and Communication Education

4. B.Ed. Special Needs

5. B.Sc. Agricultural Economics

6. B.Sc. Agricultural Extension

7. B.Sc. Ed. Geography

8. B.Sc. Interior Architecture and Design

9. B.Sc. Landscape Architecture

10. B.Sc. Logistics and Supply Chain Management

11. B.Sc. Taxation

12. B.Sc. Procurement Management

13. B.Sc. Advertising

14. B.Sc. Broadcasting

15. B.Sc. Development and Communication Studies (Film Production)

16. B.Sc. Journalism and Media Studies

17. B.Sc. Local Government and Development Studies

18. B.Sc. Employment Relations and Human Resource Management

19. B.Sc. Insurance

20. B.Sc. Securities and Investment Management

I am to add that the approval does not cover the part-time mode of delivery of the programme. Before the part-time mode of any undergraduate programme can commence, a request should be forwarded to the Commission for further processing.

The programme shall bear only the approved title and nomenclature and any change will require the approval of the Commission. The University is enjoined to provide adequate human and material resources for the development and growth of the approved programme.
