Kaduna Tertiary Institutions Resume Classes as Governor Uba Sani Approves New Salary Structure, Ending JUTIKS Strike

In a significant breakthrough for the education sector in Kaduna State, the Joint Union of Tertiary Institutions (JUTIKS) has officially suspended its industrial strike action following the long-awaited approval of a new salary structure by the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Dr. Uba Sani, CON.

The new salary structure affects staff of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria, Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology Makarfi, and the Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya institutions that had, for over 15 years, persistently demanded a review to align with national standards.

Governor Uba Sani’s decisive action in granting this approval underscores his unwavering commitment to educational development, staff welfare, and institutional reforms in the state. His administration has once again shown that dialogue, fairness, and people-oriented governance are the hallmarks of true leadership.

As a result, academic staff have returned to classrooms, and full academic activities have resumed across the affected institutions, to the joy of students, parents, and stakeholders.

The Joint Union expressed gratitude to the Governor for his responsiveness and pledged to support his educational transformation agenda in Kaduna State.

This development is a major win not just for the institutions, but for the future of education in the state.
