Borno State University (BOSU) Gets Reward For Hardworking, Wins JAMB NATAP-M Award

The young but one of the fastest growing State University in the country, on Thursday,18th July 2024, emerged overall third in the country at the 4th edition of the NATIONAL TERTIARY ADMISSIONS PERFORMANCE MERIT AWARD (NATAP-M), for the combined admissions for years 2021/2022 and 2023/2023 academic sessions.

Several indices, catapulted the Borno State University also known as BOSU, to this enviable position, beating many first and second generation Universities.

While it emerged overall BEST among State Universities in the country, the third ranking nationwide is in the areas of;

1-Most subscribed University by students,

2-Most national in terms of admissions spread,

3-Most improved in terms of gender balance,

4-Most compliant in admissions guidelines, and,

5)-Most International in admissions of foreign non Nigerians.

This milestone is no doubt, as a result of the tenacity, hardwork and resilience of the University's Pioneer Principal officers and Management Staff, as well as the unquantifiable support, cooperation and encouragement it enjoyed from the Borno State Government and its Agencies under the able leadership of Visitor to the University and Borno the State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum CON, mni, FNSE and the University's mother ministry, the Ministry of Education, Science,Technology and Innovation as well as the dogedness and insistence of compliant with admissions guidelines by the University's admissions office.

The award which carries a monetary reward of Twenty Five million naira, was received by the Ag. Vice Chancellor of BOSU, Professor Haruna D. Dlakwa assisted by the Registrar Malam Zanna Mustapha kashim, former admissions officer BOSU and now Registrar Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri, Bulama Mustapha Makinta and the Rector Ramat Polytechnic Dr. Bukar Abubakar among several other well wishers of the University.

As BOSU and it's hard working staff basked in the euphoria of this huge milestone, it is hoped that, the support, cooperation and encouragement being enjoyed by the five year old University from all and sundry especially the Borno State Government and it's Agencies, friends of the University as well as staff and students, will continue if not multiplied, so that in no distant future, the Borno State University, will emerged first not only in subsequent edition of NATAP-M, but also first in other JAMB organized competition.
