MUTA EDUCATION UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 

A Call for Applications

The MUTA Education Committee is pleased to announce a call for applications for the 2024 MUTA Education scholarship program. This scholarship is designed to support and empower deserving students who have demonstrated exceptional academic excellence, leadership potential, and a strong commitment to community service. 

About the Award

The MUTA Education Scholarship aims to recognize and reward outstanding students who have shown dedication to their academic pursuits and have made a positive impact on their communities. The awards are based on merit and are intended for full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), medicine and allied medical programs. The scholarship offers up to N50,000 per recipient at an accredited institution in Nigeria and is open to all undergraduate students from the 14 Tiv-speaking local government areas in Benue State, Nasarawa and Taraba States who meet the eligibility criteria. 

To apply for the 2024 MUTA Education scholarship, applicants must:

1. Be enrolled or accepted in a full-time undergraduate program in STEM, medicine and allied medical programs at an accredited institution for the 2024-2025 academic year.

2. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (equivalent to second class upper degree) or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

3. Submit a completed online application form, including a 2-page, double spaced personal statement explaining why they are deserving of this award, a certificate of state or local government original, and a signed/stamped form or letter from the applicant’s Examination Officer or the appropriate Head of Department certifying the candidate’s CGPA.

The selection committee will review all applications and select the winners based on their academic achievements, leadership skills, extracurricular activities, and personal qualities. The winners will be announced by June 5, 2024, and will receive their scholarship funds before August 15, 2024.
