Kwara State University (KWASU) Releases Admission Form Into Diploma Programmes For The 2025/2026 Academic Session 

THE PROGRAMME

The KWASU Institute of Foundational Studies (IFS) Programme is designed to prepare candidates for DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSION into 200 level of KWASU regular degree programmes. To be eligible for KWASU Diploma programmes, candidates must have a minimum of five (5) O’level credit passes.

The Programme is purposefully designed to provide space for candidates who could not gain admission into regular degree programmes in Nigerian universities. It is also suitable for the working class who desire on-the-job training. The duration of the programme shall be one (1) year.

The following are the available programmes into which candidates can be offered admission:

MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL SCIENCES PROGRAMMES

IFS PROGRAMMES TARGET DEGREE PROGRAMMES (B.Sc.)

(i) Diploma in Accounting and Finance Accounting, Finance, Taxation

(ii) Diploma in Business and Entrepreneurship Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Marketing

(iii) Diploma in Economics Economics

(iv) Diploma in Political and Governance Studies Political Science, Public Administration, Peace and Security Studies

(v) Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Hospitality and Tourism

(vi) Diploma in Mass Communication Mass Communication

(vii) Fine and Applied Arts Fine and Applied Arts

AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SCIENCE, BIOSCIENCE AND BIOTECHNOLOGY, AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES PROGRAMMES

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates seeking admission into the KWASU Institute of Foundational Studies Programme must possess five (5) O’level credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

Candidates pursuing courses in Agriculture, Health Sciences, Management, and Social Sciences must have credits in English Language and Mathematics as compulsory from WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, at not more than two (2) sittings.
