Fashola Urges Graduates to Uphold Decency on Social Media at UNILORIN’s 40th Convocation Lecture
Former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, CON, SAN, has urged graduates to uphold decency and discipline in their online engagements.
Speaking at the 40th Convocation Lecture of the University of Ilorin, Fashola cautioned graduands against the use of foul, abusive, or hateful language on social media platforms.
"Never use foul, abusive, or hate language on social media. What you post there will forever be credited to you. If the language or conversation gets nasty or negative, you do not belong there. Leave the site or the group and never go back,” he advised.
His message underscored the importance of responsible digital citizenship and maintaining a positive personal reputation in the digital age.
