Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) Gets Accreditation For Physiotherapy Department 










RSUTH's Physiotherapy Department excellently concludes accreditation visit by The Medical Rehabilitation Therapists (Reg.) Board of Nigeria with remarkable success 


The Medical Rehabilitation Therapists (Reg.) Board of Nigeria (MRTB) has completed a successful three-day accreditation visit to the Physiotherapy Department of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) from Tuesday, July 30 to Thursday, August 1, 2024.


The accreditation team, led by Dr. Oladire Olaniyi, and supported by Dr. Shehu Muhammad Aminu and Mrs. Zuwaira Saidu, conducted a thorough assessment of the department's internship training program. Their visit aimed to evaluate the quality of training, facilities, and adherence to national standards for physiotherapy education.


The visit commenced with a warm welcome from Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, Chief Medical Director of RSUTH. Prof. Alikor expressed his gratitude to the MRTB team for the accreditation visit and emphasized RSUTH's commitment to delivering high-quality training in physiotherapy. He highlighted the department's efforts to continuously improve its programs and align with national standards.


Dr. Olaniyi during his concluding remarks for the accreditation process, praised the Physiotherapy Department for its dedication to maintaining high educational standards and its proactive approach to integrating feedback into its training modules. He commended the department’s facilities and expressed satisfaction with the overall quality of the program.


As RSUTH awaits final positive results from MRTB, the successful accreditation exercise is a significant milestone for RSUTH, affirming its role as a leading institution in physiotherapy education in Nigeria. The department will continue to work closely with MRTB to implement any recommendations for further improvements, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of medical rehabilitation training and professional development.
